Kube Studios Diet: Lifestyle
Nowadays we are bombarded by 'good' advice telling us how to live, what to eat and when. One thing we should always remember about advice is that the person or company giving it will have something to gain by influencing your actions. The most obvious example of this would be a diet pills company. Kube Studios hear about all kinds of weird diets involving zero carbs or zero gluten and thought we should look at some of the truths behind them.
The most important thing to remember is that you are what you eat. Clearly you will not turn into a portion of chips, but on a chemical level this is very true. Your body needs dozens of different nutrients every day to perform its tasks of regenerating tissue and cleansing toxins - both biological and from food and drink. 'Superfoods' are named as such because they have high levels of these nutrients and low levels of bad fats.

Gluten; myth or reality?
Gluten is a protein found in wheat, barley and rye. It is also present in many whole grains such as bulgur, kamut, spelt and farro. Unless you have Celiac Disease (which is essentially an allergy to gluten) it is definitely not recommended to cut gluten out of your diet. As we said up above, someone has something to gain - in this instance it is the gluten-free and free-from companies who promote their very expensive products by supporting these diets and encouraging new eating habits.
If we look back at our grandparents' old photos, how many people were overweight? Was it because they had a carb or gluten free diet, or because they were generally more active and ate more organically? Many of us are addicted to sugars and can suffer headaches and itchy feet when cravings start. For most people this is around eight in the evening; the worst time of the day to snack or eat fast food. If you feel that this matches your normal eating habit, try cutting it out of your day for a month and keep an eye on the scales. A good rule can be to only eat during daylight hours. Kube Studios promotes healthy habits over unhealthy diet regimes.
