Looking After Yourself As A Male Model

Kube Studios Male Modelling

Kube Studios are specialists in Male Modelling. Here are three steps towards ensuring you are at your male modelling best on every photo shoot. As well as working out and eating healthily, here are some ideas you may not have thought to do.

Get  Plenty of Rest

Have a good nights sleep before any photo shoot. As you get closer to your deadline you'll begin to feel the effects of the diet and training and start looking gaunt. Your body will also increase its cortisol levels which can result in losing muscle and storing water around your midsection.

A great way to avoid this is to rest. Strive for at least eight hours each night, and if you can get more, do so. If you can take a nap during the day, take it.

Get Massages

This will help you have good posture. Getting a good quality massage will help relieve the discomfort you feel from your training and diet. But you'll be surprised how much loosening your body can improve your spirit and help you make the most of your final few workouts.

Pleasures are few and far between during a major cut like this, so pamper yourself where you can. If it helps, you can justify the increased expense because your food budget goes down over the 10 days.

Get A Tan

Great for topless shoots. Tanned skin simply looks better under the lights, and it will showcase more definition. If you're afraid of getting a real tan because of the dangerous rays, well, a fake tan never hurt anyone—although bad fake tans have bruised a lot of egos!

You can get a professional spray-on tan, which is well worth the cost if you're preparing for a show or photo shoot. Keep in mind, that even a good fake tan almost never looks as good as a natural tan, so if you can get some natural sunlight in gradual increments each day, you'll look much healthier.

Kube Studios Testimonials

Kube Studios Testimonials

Here we have three real reviews of Kube Studios services. These people have used their photography services and are here to have their say. Kube Studios is not a modelling agency. They are a photography studio with over 10 years experience in modelling photography.

Kayler, London

I came to Kube Studios just over a year ago with my 3 year old daughter to see how well she would respond to working with photographers. The team were great and welcoming which put us at ease. Also, they knew exactly what they were doing and the advice given was fantastic. Since then my daughter has been signed to an extremely reputable agency based in London and was out on castings immediately for brands such as Burberry, Argos ,John Lewis etc. where she was a reserve model.  She landed her first shoot for The Canary Wharf Group and has a lot more work in the pipeline. I just wanted to say a big thank you to all the team as the aftercare has been superb, I couldn't have achieved this without them

Samara,  Salford

Hello!! Thank you so much for my amazing photoshoot and your help in getting me started with my modelling career. I have been given the title of teen beauty of Salford 2014 and will compete in the teen Beauty of England finals 2014

Yasmin, Greenhithe

Just writing to say thank you for the wonderful time I had at the studio Thursday, everyone was so nice and welcoming! Thank you for helping me to notice that I have potential and giving me the confidence boost I've always needed! I'm really looking forward to getting started and seeing everything set up. I honestly cannot thank you enough but I haven't forgotten about the coffee I owe you haha

Inspirational Model Cara Delevigne

Kube Studios Reviews: Cara Delevigne

This is our tribute to this London born model, who at 21 is one of the world's most photographed women. She does't exactly come from humble beginnings, and any girl starting out modelling would love to be as connected as she is. Her parents are super rich and her godfather is a media mogul who owns 100 magazines and 80 websites globally. He also owns his own college of fashion and design, that's handy! Wonder why Cara is on the cover of Tatler or Vanity Fair for example? Her godfather owns them, his dad is Chairman of multi-billion dollar company Lloyd of London.

Indeed, many of Cara's family are magazine publishers, which is a great help if you want to be a model. According to Wikipedia, her maternal grandmother Janie Sheffield was lady-in-waiting to Princess Margaret no less!

So what hope do you have of competing with Cara Delevigne, who I'm sure Prince William is kicking himself for not marrying instead of Kate? None really. However, the world of modelling is huge and there is great opportunity to model all over the world. The industry is always looking for the next fresh face, and it could be yours!

Is Plastic Surgery A Good Idea?

Kube Studios

Many models ask themselves at one point or another if they should undergo plastic surgery. However, what they should really be asking themselves is should they spend thousands of pounds undergoing a painful procedure which going to make them look like they have been stung by a bee while flying through a wind tunnel.

Plastic surgery has been a fascination for celebrities and models trying to compete with each other for the limelight. However, many young people aspire to look like them and spend thousands on plastic surgery to fulfill an image of beauty that is unnatural.

Models like Amy Childs looked perfectly good before have gone under the knife but did so anyway. Many are left with a trout pout or weird eyebrows that make them look like they are a Strek Trek extra.

Even singers like Tulisa have had plastic surgery, which was for no reason. Kube Studios doesn't discriminate against people who have had plastic surgery - this article is for entertainment purposes only :)

Tulisa - Before

Tulisa - After

It is up to the media to promote a more natural image of beauty and lower the amount they rely on airbrushing their photographs.Young people should chose realistic role models (real people) not just images created by graphic designers and plastic surgeons. Kube Studios Guide for Eating Right

Kube Studios Diet Tips

You are what you eat. You can only look healthy if you eat healthy food, which gives you the energy to exercise and look your best. This is why Kube Studios has made this list of the best diet tips for you to stick to. This will help you achieve that modelling physique you want and potentially open the doors to you getting accepted to a modelling agency. Kube Studios and Fusion Studios are photography studios specializing in modelling portfolio shoots.

Tip 1 - Do not eat for entertainment, boredom or emotional reasons. Many people smoke and blame their smoking on stress. However, the only thing a cigarette does it relieve the stress caused by the nicotine craving itself. It is the same with food, the more you eat the more you'll stress about your eating. If you blame your eating on stress, or boredom, or that it's there and your self destructive side tempted you into it, then you may develop unhealthy eating habits. This can lead to you becoming overweight, have bad skin, diabetes and a much lower self esteem. This can impact your career and personal life negatively as well. Therefore, don't over eat, don't eat because you are bored - chew gum - only eat at set times - don't skip meals and don't eat between meals - for any reason. Food is nutrition, that's it.

Tip 2 - Eat good food. Many people with poor eating habits, have poor nutrition. This is because they can't cook or prepare their own food. They therefore rely on restaurants, or ready meals for nutrition. However, the priority of these foods is to be as salty, fatty, greasy - and therefore as tasty as possible. Not your priorities for losing weight! For breakfast, have cereal. For lunch prepare a sandwich yourself. For dinner, cook a simple and nutritious meal. Use ingredients you are happy to put in your body, on'es not starting with E.

Tip 3 - Do not drink Cola. Any Cola, or any other caffeinated fizzy drink. Drink water or tea at all times. Avoid alcohol because it contains so many calories you would not believe, and coffee, because it dries your skin. When you get bad skin the first thing you do is cover it up with make-up, which clogs the pores in your already bad skin, making your skin worse, and making you need to buy more make-up. I would not be surprised if the bosses of the alcohol companies, and the coffee companies, the fizzy drink companies and the make-up industry met in secret to discuss their plan for ruining the world's skin, I think it's called the Bildenberg Conference.

Become a Body Parts Model

Kube Studios guide to Body Parts Modelling

Sometimes commercial or fashion models, who look good in a full length picture modelling an outfit, do not necessarily have nice enough  feet to have a close up of their shoes and this is where the parts model come in. Sometimes they need someone whose part of the bpdy they need has to be perfect and nothing else really matters about them. They are employed because they usually specialize in modelling one part of the body.

This specialized type of model can be used in photoshoots to help promote certain company's products or in feature films or promo videos where they are looking specifically for that  special "someone" with beautiful hands or killer legs!

Some models only model parts, however, commercial, fashion, petite, mature, plus size and glamour models can also do parts modelling as long as they meet the required standards. At Kube Studios, hand models are used to model different types of products, e.g.; rings and necklaces for jewellers, nail polish, nail extensions and hand lotions.

Requirements for Hand Models include;

- Smooth skin
- Long slender graceful looking hands and fingers
- Great shape and the ability to pose  your hands so they look relaxed
- No  blemishes or uneven skin tone
- Men's hands shouldn't be too hairy
- Neat and even nails

Requirements for Foot Models include;
- smooth skin
- evenly shaped toes
- be free of things like corns and hang nails
- no blemishes or uneven skin tone
- neat and even nails
- attractive ankles

Some of the things foot models  advertise are  shoes, ankle bracelets, toe rings, creams, sprays, polishes, socks ect. Kube Studios can give you the advice to get you there, but are not a modelling agency.

Legs models are normally associated with tall models. The legs should look long, shapely, smooth, be well moisturized, waxed and free of blemishes and varicose veins. Leg models sell lots of products such as stockings, razors, bath products and lotions.

These are the main three types of body-parts modelling; however there is also a market for ears, hair, bottoms, necks, eyes and lips. Find out more about Kube Studios at Kube Studios reviews blog.
