Kube Studios

Kube Studios are the UKs top fashion modelling photography studios. With studios in London, Birmingham and Manchester, we can cater for a wide range of photography needs. Our talented teams will make your day in the studio one to remember. All team members have first hand experience in high end fashion and photography and know exactly what aspiring models need to make a fantastic portfolio that will represent their looks and characters in the best light when applying to major agencies. Here are some fantastic ways to improve your method of doing one of the basic elements of make up, eye liner.

First of all, you have to choose whether you wish to use a powder or liquid eyeliner. If you choose a liquid eyeliner, start by drawing a line as close as you can to the eyelash line, starting at the inner corner and drawing across. A fine line will add discreet emphasis to your eyes, while a thick line will be more striking and make the eyes look bigger. If you draw the line thicker than you wanted, blend it into the eyelid a little using a brush or even just a finger tip. Easy as that! Note that if you are intending to use shadow too, apply this first or it will interfere with your line. Liquid eyeliner is probably the most difficult to apply, so don't worry if it takes a little practice to get the results you want. The make up artists at Kube Studios will attend to your every need so don't concern yourself with trying to do your own make up on the morning of your photo shoot!

If you choose to use a pencil eyeliner they have a tendency to smear and smudge. Don't skimp out and choose by price, go for the best one you can. Go for a retractable pencil version rather than the pencil sharpener ones as they often split and are more likely to snap. Apply shadow after using pencil eyeliner and it will help stop it from smearing. They tend to wear off relatively quickly and shadow helps to make your make up last longer. Kube Studios Shaving Tips

Kube Studios: The Perfect Shave

Kube Studios are London's premier photography studio. Kube specialise in portfolio shoots and modelling shoots but cater for a wide variety of photography needs. In this post Kube Studios look  at the best way to give yourself a wet shave. Men normally prefer wet shaves in the summer as its easier to get a good result when the air temperature is higher. When the skin is cold it goes tight and dries easier which can cause skin to flake after a wet shave. Before you start, wash your face with warm water and dab excess water off with a hot towel before applying a generous layer of shaving foam/gel.

If you do this you're much less likely to nick your skin. Pull the skin tight and go with the grain of the hair. It's a popular misconception that you should shave against the grain. This can give you in growing hair which is quite painful. Try to use as few strokes as possible to avoid over irritating the skin, rinsing the razor in warm water between each stroke. Once you're done, moisturise with a soothing lotion, preferably containing aloe, and avoid traditional alcohol based aftershaves as they can be stingy and dry out the skin.
